Web 3.0
The internet has come a very long way from where it started. It has expanded its horizons from only information, to social networking, and now progressing into the personal assistant realm. Web 2.0 opened the doors for social media and networking, allowing users to interact with the websites to provide an opinion or make changes. The technology doesn't stop here. Web 3.0 will be a gateway into the artificial intelligence realm, making your computer able to "get to know you" through previously visited sites and searches. Imagine an internet that knows everything about you so that all you have to do is ask it where to go or what to do and it can provide relevant information based on the things that YOU like. This internet will be able to communicate in terms both computers and humans can understand, and be able to present information to you in a context that fits your specific needs and personality.
Present day internet can only search for your wants and needs based on provided keywords. This can prevent something important from getting your attention or send you results that are way off base for what you are wanting. When planning travel you will have to research several specific sites for price comparisons and then figure out where exactly it is that you can afford to go based on your income. What if all you had to do was ask your internet to find you the perfect location based on the amount of money that you want to spend and how long you are going to be away? It would be like having a travel guide, best friend, or personal assistant at your fingertips every second of every day. With the intricate capabilities that this new web interface will provide, people are calling Web 3.0 the Semantic Web.
The word Semantic mean related to or pertaining to something. When your browser can use software agents that crawl through searches and can pinpoint exactly what you are looking for without just scanning for keywords, this would be an example of semantics. Using collections of information archived in the form of metadata, this new web would be able to derive from one specific item to relate it directly to another so results would be more refined. We currently provide helpful information that can be used for this new technology by tagging items and objects in blogs and other pages. This can help distinguish particular characteristics that are considered important for later use. This is definitely heading in the direction of superior artificial intelligence for future explorations.
Although Web 3.0 has not officially been turned loose on the general population, it is definitely in the works. There are limitless possibilities to the design and ability that this new web could offer. Technology has become so advanced that now we will be able to have a computer who knows more about us than our family members or best friends. With such advancements on the way Web 3.0 is closer to becoming a complete reality than most expect and when it hits the market, more and more people will have the luxury of using an easier, faster internet.
Spreading the site and gathering information is not difficult nowadays because of world wide web is the place where we build our product or service to the customers. If we desire to crawl sites for informations there is a way how to do it.
